There are no shortcuts to success. It takes time,
effort, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to
get the job done.
Favorite Business Magazines: Network
Marketing Lifestyles, Upline Journal, Kiplingers
Magazine, and Budget Travel Magazine.
Favorite Business Books and Authors:
While I have read all the modern-day motivational/self-help
books, my personal three favorites are absolute classics
that were written decades ago: Think and Grow Rich,
by Napoleon Hill, Magic of Thinking Big, by David Schwartz,
and The Greatest Salesman in the World, by Og Mandino.
In my opinion, these are still the best of the best.
I originally read these books about 12 years ago, and
I can honestly say they changed my life forever!
Relaxes By: Taking several one-
to two-week vacations throughout the year and one four-
to six-week vacation every two years. This is
the only way I can REALLY relax
by getting away
from it all. I also like to race Formula Cars. In fact,
one big reason I got into network marketing to begin
with was because of my dream to be a race-car driver.
Network marketing was the only vehicle that I could
identify that would allow me to create BOTH the income
and time freedom necessary to pursue such a sport. Today,
I get to indulge in my favorite fantasy four to six
times a year at the Sears Point Race Track in Sonoma,
Calif.
Keeps In Shape By: Working out
one-on-one with a private personal-fitness trainer four
times a week. I also walk along the beach at sunset
four to five miles, three times a week. This is really
one of my favorite daily ritualsa brisk sunset
walk on one of the worlds most beautiful beaches,
Keawakapu, in Maui.
Favorite Part of the Job: Helping
people understand that THEY, TOO, can DO, HAVE, and
BECOME anything they want and that network marketing
is a VEHICLE that can take them there
Least Favorite Part of the Job:
Listening to naysayers, the ones that call to complain
that this doesnt work. These are the people
who dont believe in themselves, the industry,
or in what our training concepts and strategies can
do for them. What these poor souls really need is personal
development. They need to invest into themselves by
reading the books Ive suggested, listening to
motivational audios, and attending seminars of people
who have something to teach them. Ive always believed
that if people will invest more into themselves and
into their business, they will have established a solid
foundation upon which to grow their business. If people
would do this, they wouldnt be naysayers and dream
stealers.
Companies Admired: ProSTEP, Inc.,
because they are progressive, young, and on the
cutting edge of what it takes to succeed in the business
of network marketing, and PrePaid Legal. They
have delivered a remarkable product that this country
really needs-legal protection in a very cost-effective
manner. Andrew also admires Upline Journalzz.
John Milton Fogg and his staff have probably done
more to enhance and recognize the tremendous potential
that this industry provides than any other establishment
in America today.
Favorite Quotes: He who cherishes
a beautiful vision, a lofty ideal in his heart, will
one day realize it. Cherish your visions. Cherish your
ideals. Cherish the music that stirs in your heart,
the beauty that forms in your mind, the loveliness that
drapes your purest thoughts, for out of them will grow
all delightful conditions, all heavenly environment;
of these, if you but remain true to them, your world
will at last be built. Dream lofty dreams, and as you
dream, so shall you become. Your Vision is the promise
of what you shall one day be. Your Ideal is the prophecy
of what you shall at last unveil.-James Allen,
from As A Man Thinketh.
The Person Who Most Influenced His
Life: Harvey Conners, who helped launch a new network
marketing company called FundAmerica. He was VP
of training for this company, and I had the GOOD FORTUNE
of being exposed to Harveys motivational training
in March of 1989. This was my first exposure to network
marketing. It was through Harvey that I learned all
about personal development, goal setting, and how to
have a BIG dream. He clearly was the most positive guy
I had ever met and showed me how to believe in myself.
In many ways, the success I enjoy today can be directly
attributed to the influence that Harvey had on me more
than 12 years ago.
Heroes: John Kalench, a network
marketing coach and trainer. I went to many of
Johns network marketing trainings, read his wonderful
books, and listened to many of his audio tapes. In fact,
I had the good privilege of being invited to his birthday
party shortly before he passed away. There was something
really special about John. He had this incredible spiritual
energy full of love, compassion, and tolerance for all.
He was a WONDERFUL teacher. He touched millions of lives.
I saw how John touched lives and the difference that
he made, and I wanted to do the same.
Special Accomplishments: Chosen
by his primary network marketing company (Body Wise)
to become a Mastery Seminar Workshop Leader. I
then had the further distinction of being chosen to
become a trainer to the trainers, helping
other Body Wise leaders become Certified Mastery Seminar
Workshop Leaders as well.
Months Before Achieving a Profit:
Two to three months. In the beginning, the cash
flow was very small. But Ill never forget the
words of my mentor: In the beginning, you will
work a lot of hours to get paid very little, for which
down the road, you will make a lot of money for doing
very little.
How Andrew Got Into Business For Himself:
A business acquaintance I had met at a Chamber
of Commerce mixer called me out of the blue one day
and simply said he had a business proposal he wanted
to run by me. Being young, entrepreneurial, and hungry,
I agreed to meet him for a boardroom presentation at
the headquarters of a local network marketing company
called FundAmerica. I really liked what I saw. By my
10th month, my check was over $9,000/month. But the
company collapsed a few months after that. It took every
bit of courage and personal determination that I had
to re-enter the network marketing field with yet another
company. In 1990, I started with Body Wise, at which
I stayed with for the next seven years, before forming
Wealth Builders International and teaming up with ProSTEP
in 1995.
Best Thing About Being Self-Employed:
The best part is being in total control of my
life and my time. I do what I want, when I want. I am
a slave to nobody or anything. I call all my own shots.
The personal satisfaction that comes with this way of
life is worth the price you must pay to achieve it.
