Jim Strickland began in business for himself when he was only twelve years old. He ran a paper route and then sub-contracted several other boys to help him deliver papers. When he was fourteen, he began a lawn cutting business and again ended up hiring several other boys to cut grass while he sold new customers.

Jim says, “I have been an entrepreneur virtually all of my life, except for a short time as an employee and two years in the U.S. Army Special Forces.”

Geometric progression can be seen most vividly in Jim’s income with Phoenix International. He began in October by making $485; jumped to $4100 in November and ended that year with $5995 for December. He got the new year off to a rousing start by earning $26,000; his March check was for $107,787 and May brought him $306,000. The power of geometric growth is very real in Jim Strickland’s life.

Jim say he has been most influenced by Jesus Christ. His heroes are Dr. Robert Schuller, a pastor; Zig Ziglar, a motivational speaker and trainer; and Lt. Colonel James “Bo” Gritz, the most highly decorated Green Beret commander in Viet Nam.

Along the way, Jim has received many honors. He was featured in Money Magazine in 1987 and was also named as one of the Outstanding Young Men in America in the same year.
