Do you farm out any of your work?

CE: Yes, as much as possible; I delegate everything that I can to my key leaders and upcoming leaders. I want to concentrate on developing relationships with our leaders. If you can find and develop two good leaders a year in this industry, you will be a complete success.

JK: Yes. I don’t have time to type, so I have found an excellent business that will do my typing for me. I would suggest that you farm out anything that (a) you don’t like to do, and (b) that you can pay someone else to do in a reasonable fashion.

DW: I farm out printing, tech support for our customers, etc. When it comes to the money however, handle that in house!

SW: Yes-printing, computer data input, legal work, accounting work.

Do you encourage or discourage partnerships?

CE: Definitely discourage. I have seen so many good friendships end and families torn apart because of partnerships.

JK: I encourage partnerships. Network marketing is a business of relationships and partnerships, and it’s as J. Paul Getty said, “I’d rather have 1 percent of 100 people’s efforts than 100 percent of my own.” We can all accomplish a lot more working together.

LL: I think the best kind of partnerships are those that are husband-and-wife related. I recommend teaming up to accomplish the goals at hand and assigning specific duties. I also feel that a family working together in a synergistic atmosphere can really be a powerful driving force.

JL: Discourage, if you are self motivated.

DW: Discourage.

SW: Discourage, a leader must lead. Organizations are built by leadership. Leadership is the highest paid profession in the world!

When legal issues arise, what’s your usual response?

CE: At New Image International we have a great staff that works with attorneys, so we do not have to get involved. We hand over our information to the Compliance Department; they handle our legal issues, and if they need the attention of our attorneys, we leave that up to them.

JK: My usual response is, “How can we resolve the challenge without it going to court?” The only people I believe that win when legal issues arise are the attorneys. If you can settle it out of court, not only will you save yourself a lot of time, you will also more than likely save yourself a lot of money. I do realize that sometimes something needs to go to court. However, my best advice is that if you can avoid it, definitely do so.

LL: For me, all legal issues are basically handled by the network marketing company I work with.

JL: Handle it professionally.

DW: I have had a Pre-Paid Legal membership for years, and I still get checks from them for marketing it years ago (we still sell an occasional membership from our Website). PPL has saved me more than once when legal issues arise.

SW: Handle it now!

Does earning a lot of money improve the quality of your life, and if so, in what ways?

CE: Yes, we are totally financially free. Everyone should have the privilege of knowing the joy that comes from helping others. I had heard all my life that money is the root of all evil, but that is not true; it actually says the love of money is the root of all evil. When you have money, it makes you more of what you already are. If you are a giver, you will give more. If you can’t handle what you have now, you will not be able to handle large sums of money. When our son got married last year, we had a 2,700-square-foot home built for him and his new wife. When he got out of college we gave him a BMW Z3 Roadster. All his friends are wanting to know if I will adopt them because we only have one son! Roy (my husband) has played golf in Hawaii, Jamaica, St. Thomas, Cancun, and Aruba. These are the qualities of life that give you great memories. I tell everyone we walk the beaches of the world, and New Image International is paying for it.

JK: Earning a lot of money definitely improves the quality of one’s life. I’ve been rich and I’ve been poor, and being rich is a lot better because when I was poor, I could not give to charity; I could not help out starving children; I could not give money to my church; and I could not be a blessing to others. Money is not the root of all evil; the love of money is the root of all evil, so you can definitely help not only to improve the quality of your own life but also to improve the quality of the lives of many around you. For those of us that have been blessed financially with a lot of money, it is our obligation to help out those less fortunate than us.

LL: One word: freedom. Freedom to wake up when I want to and not being bound by a bank account. When I go on vacation now, it’s not where I can afford to go; it’s where I want to go. When I go shopping, I buy what I want without looking at a price tag. Peace of mind, security, and stress free.

JL: Yes, you now have less worry and more choices.

DW: Yes, as long as you don’t let it go to your head. Most of the time, more is demanded of you (especially in network marketing). You have to deal with more folks, and some of them who are very negative can get pretty nasty with you. It all comes with the territory. It does give you more time to spend with your family, especially if you all work together.

SW: Yes. First, I spend many valuable hours with my daughter. She is learning exactly what I believe. We are becoming great friends as she grows; strangers are not raising my child. Second, when a person leverages time and gets man hours working for them, life takes on a different dimension. Life is as it should be: lived by the person for the person, not for someone else.
